Once upon a time, a tweet was only something that birds did. It was a nice little sound that came from one of nature's loveliest creations, and we cherished it every time we heard it. There was even a cartoon bird named after that sound, and we loved him too in all his yellow cheerfulness. Now, a tweet is something that can ruin someone's career, cause stock prices to boost or crash, and make us laugh on Memebase.com. All of the above. I feel like we don't even use the word "tweet" to refer to birds anymore (though I am woefully out of touch with the birding community, I must admit).

Of course, there are people (well really just one person) who insist on calling Twitter "X" instead. Something hasn't flopped so hard at catching on in a very long time. The people spoke, and they decided nope, no thanks. I'm keeping it the old way.
